Narnia provides full day childcare in a safe, healthy and nurturing atmosphere. We recognize children, staff, and parents as active learners and support this with meaningful educational experiences.
Narnia provides opportunities to encourage the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative development of the child. Self-help skills and the building of a positive self-concept are emphasized. The program focuses on the philosophy that children develop by interacting with their peers, their environment, and the community at large. Families are an integral part of the Narnia experience. The administration, educators and parents work together to help each child reach their potential.
At CPE Narnia, educators act as observers and facilitators in these activity centres and semi-structured activities, guiding all possible learning opportunities. The educators present activities based on their knowledge of child development, and the children’s interests. These activities will be designed to support the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and creative development of the child.
CPE Narnia has a wide variety of educational resources in ample supply, for all of the children in Narnia’s care to fully develop their potential in a safe, loving and warm atmosphere. The children are guided to dress themselves, a major life-skill that strongly enhances self-esteem by promoting independence.
CPE Narnia recognizes that parents are the primary educators of their children. They are the best placed to assist the educational staff; collaboration between parents and educators is essential to the quality of the educational program.
